POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role involves executing basic wiring and assembly tasks on various components and sub-assemblies, while also providing support in the construction of larger units under general supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Interpret wiring diagrams and operational sheets effectively.
  2. Utilize color coding for accurate component identification.
  3. Carry out repetitive, preparatory, and intermediate wiring tasks on chassis, components, and sub-assemblies, including P.C. board repairs and solder touch-ups.
  4. Assemble a variety of cables and harnesses using wire boards as needed.
  5. Inspect work for connections, continuity, insulation, and other electrical factors using ohmmeters and other testing equipment.
  6. Perform soldering to military specifications.
  7. Prepare wires and components by cutting to length, tinning, bonding, and attaching terminals.
  8. Solder plugs and sockets to cable wires accurately.
  9. Identify wires, twist, sew, tie, and lace to create simple cables.
  10. Connect wires to exposed components such as resistor boards and printed circuit boards.
  11. Execute non-precision mechanical assembly of electrical and mechanical components.
  12. Employ necessary hand tools for tasks, including wire strippers, pliers, tweezers, and soldering irons.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of two years of relevant experience required.
2. High School diploma is mandatory; technical or trade school education is advantageous.
