Position Overview:

The Assembler/Tester Technician is responsible for the precise and efficient assembly and testing of intricate products, ensuring adherence to customer quality standards and timely delivery. This role involves working with products that incorporate mechanical, electronic, and dual hydraulic systems across various part families. The technician plays a vital role in lean initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and minimizing costs, while operating independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute complex assembly and testing tasks utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, as well as specialized mechanical and electronic testing equipment within a manufacturing setting.
  • Set up sophisticated testing apparatus for diverse products to evaluate and document compliance with test specifications, including hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and cryogenic tests.
  • Ensure the accuracy of test setups and make necessary adjustments to achieve specified results, troubleshooting and resolving setup issues autonomously.
  • Conduct tests using both conventional and computerized data acquisition systems, interpreting and recording results accurately.
  • Perform diagnostic teardown and reconstruction of products, assessing component suitability according to specifications.
  • Produce and evaluate assemblies to ensure conformity with product specifications, interpreting engineering documents and quality directives.
  • Lead lean initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities and collaborating with support functions to resolve product issues.
  • May involve travel to customer sites for product failure analysis and integration support.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and ensuring equipment calibration compliance.
  • Provide training and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Qualifications and Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in assembly and testing within a high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of complex hydraulic, pneumatic, or fuel products with electronic components.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints, assembly routes, and test specifications.
  • Strong mechanical reasoning skills, with a background in hydraulics and/or electronics.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Experience in implementing lean methodologies and serving as a resource for team development.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet state vehicle insurance requirements.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation for this position ranges from $30.00 to $38.00 per hour, with variations based on experience and skills.
