Position Overview:
The Assembler/Tester Technician plays a crucial role in the assembly and testing of intricate products, ensuring adherence to customer quality standards and timely delivery. This position involves working with products that incorporate mechanical, electronic, and dual hydraulic systems, while engaging with various part families. The technician actively participates in lean initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and minimizing costs, operating with a high degree of independence and minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute complex assembly and testing tasks utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, as well as specialized mechanical and electronic testing equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Configure advanced testing apparatus for a range of products to assess and document compliance with test specifications, including hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and cryogenic systems.
- Ensure the accuracy of test setups and make necessary adjustments to achieve specified outcomes, troubleshooting and resolving setup issues autonomously.
- Conduct tests using both conventional and computerized data acquisition systems, interpreting and recording results accurately.
- Perform diagnostic teardown and reassembly of products, evaluating component suitability according to established specifications.
- Produce and verify assemblies that meet product specifications, interpreting blueprints, engineering directives, and quality standards.
- Lead lean initiatives by identifying areas for improvement and proposing actionable solutions.
- Collaborate with support teams to address product issues and ensure compliance with business contracts.
- May engage in machining operations related to product acceptance and perform inspections as needed.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is calibrated according to established schedules.
- Provide training and mentorship to less experienced team members.
Qualifications and Educational Background:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in assembly and testing within a high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in understanding complex hydraulic, pneumatic, or fuel systems that involve electronics and multiple part families.
- Ability to independently set up test fixtures and adapt procedures to meet unique project requirements.
- Strong skills in reading and interpreting blueprints, assembly routes, and test specifications.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, along with basic computer proficiency.
- Knowledge of measurement conversion, fluid dynamics, and principles of leakage, flow, friction, and pressure.
- Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and meet any necessary insurance requirements.
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for this role ranges from $30.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience and skills. Benefits include ongoing training, professional development opportunities, medical and dental coverage, 401K, and various other employee support programs.
