The Office of Innovative Technology Solutions at Tarleton State University welcomes applications and nominations for Software Applications Developer II. The Software Applications Developer II, under general supervision, performs complex and specialized software development support functions, such as troubleshooting, analysis, research, de-bugging, and problem-solving.; Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate; after hours as required

This is a hybrid position, in-office with remote availability. Our office is located in Stephenville Texas with work hours of Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate which may include afterhours/late hours as needed. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

25% Serves as a senior member of the Applications team, setting technical direction, participating in developing system and programming standards, ensuring consistency with design documentation, creating and evaluating test plans, performing related software engineering duties as required.

20% Completes reports and summaries for management and/or users including status reports, problem reports, progress summaries, and system utilization reports.

20% Answers questions and provides technical guidance and/or training to application users to ensure the success of an application.

10% Makes recommendations based on the evaluation of software products and programming languages for their applicability to the system and/or project.

10% Coordinates the review and analysis of software documentation and production results to facilitate problem resolution.

10% Collaborates with the project leader to develop work plan and time schedules for computing projects including outlining phases and identifying personnel and computing equipment requirements.

5% Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Three years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Knowledge of advanced analysis, troubleshooting, problem-solving, requirement assessment and analysis, project management methodology, and proficiency of the Information Technology Interface Library (ITIL).

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Experience:

Three years of experience supporting enterprise-wide applications.

Salary

Commensurate with experience

The target base annual salary is $53,496.80 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
