Job Summary: Norton Rose Fulbright is seeking an Associate with 3-6 years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development. The ideal candidate will have a background in project development within the renewable energy or oil & gas sectors, or extensive construction experience, particularly with large-scale infrastructure projects. Experience should include negotiating engineering, procurement, and construction agreements, operations and maintenance agreements, equipment procurement agreements, and other development agreements. This role provides an opportunity to work on high-profile projects in renewable energy, energy storage, and power generation technologies. Collaborating with our global team, you will engage in some of the most innovative, complex, and challenging projects worldwide. Attorneys in this role may focus exclusively on renewable energy and energy transition transactions, if desired, or participate in a broader range of energy and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of renewable and conventional energy projects, including wind, solar, LNG, and nuclear.
  • Oversee engineering, procurement and construction agreements, equipment procurement agreements and other development contracts.
  • Negotiate and draft engineering, procurement, and construction agreements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in project development and finance law
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and colleagues in various specialty areas such as tax, regulatory, and real estate

Additional Skills:

  • Representative experience with clients in the renewable energy market, on matters including project development (including offtake, procurement and construction) and/or project finance specific transactions is helpful
  • Law firm project finance experience, preferably in a sophisticated national law firm environment

Senior Associates, Associates, and Sr. Counsel are expected in the office at least two days a week. Position Information: Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The full time base annual salary for this position in the New York City, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco market is expected to range between $260, ,000. This range represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for a position in New York City, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Salaries in other markets will vary depending on market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
