ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Coordinator is a vital part of the Project Management team, reporting to the Manager of Strategic Projects.

The Project Coordinator works between the Merchandising teams – Buying, Experiences, Product Development, and Purchasing – and the Creative team to support asset production and speed-to-market for new item launches. The role supports the same group in enacting the quarterly print catalog project plan, as laid out by the catalog Project Manager. With additional opportunities to support the Project Management team with larger-scale projects or to lead more focused pieces of work as they arise, this is an excellent role for someone looking to grow their project management skills and gain hands-on experience while working in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate is process-minded, a creative problem solver, and can build relationships across all business units and organizational levels. Success in this role is defined by swift and detailed communication across departments, a resultant accuracy and ease in asset creation and approval, and the punctual completion of timelines.

This hybrid role works on-site at our waterfront Brooklyn location 2 days per week, preferably on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as liaison between the Merchandising and Creative teams to coordinate the new item and SKU pipeline from end to end, including leading biweekly check-ins on upcoming and ongoing work, organizing biweekly handoffs and handbacks between teams, and maintaining the Asana organizational tool.
  • Support Site Merchandising in preparing and launching new items weekly.
  • Support ongoing asset maintenance by assigning out and tracking work in the Asana ticketing system.
  • Maintain and update status reporting on pipeline objectives, including key strategy initiatives and speed-to-market.
  • Support catalog execution through scheduling, communication, and Asana-based organizational tasks.
  • Assist Project Managers with various tasks related to larger-scale projects, as they arise.
  • Drive continuous improvement on new item pipeline and catalog production processes.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to correctly prioritize multiple projects and teammates' expectations while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Forward-thinking as well as detail-oriented.
  • Strong writing and effective communication skills.
  • Ambition to learn and grow in the Project Management field.
  • 1-2 years of merchandising, creative production, project management, or other relevant work experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience using project management software preferred.

COMPANY PERKS

  • Benefits: We invest in your well-being through subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance, and in your future via 401K matching. You can even invest in our future through employee stock options.
  • Education Subsidy: We reimburse up to $5,250 (the yearly IRS limit) of tuition for college coursework or professional training.
  • Service: We offer eight hours of paid time off each year for volunteering.

  • Work/life balance: We offer generous paid time off, and we supplement New York State Short-Term Disability for 3 weeks and New York State Paid Family Leave for 8 weeks.
  • Casual environment: No need to dress up—wear comfortable clothes every day. And we hold occasional, fun, company-wide events.
  • Open book policy: We share our financial results with the entire team every week in our management update email and our monthly company-wide meeting, UncommonCo.
  • Collaborative environment: Whether it's a data analyst recommending products to the buyers or a warehouse manager providing the theme for an email blast, we welcome your talents and insight, wherever they apply.
