The Clinical Social Worker delivers quality, professional social work services to individuals in ARCA Neuro programs, their families and related community agencies.


Provides social work services with patient/clients, including:
counseling on social-emotional issues, teaching interpersonal skills and advocating for human rights. Conducts and documents a supervisory visit to the patient/client residences.

Provides social work services with groups, including:

training patient/clients receiving services and staff on issues of dignity, respect and human rights, meeting with families to resolve issues related to patient/client eligibility and program requirements.


Provides social work services with community agencies, including:
facilitating education, coordination and communication with ARCA Neuro and related community programs.

Conducts a comprehensive assessment to access the patient/client skill level across several categories, which allows the team to develop a personalized treatment plan.

Evaluates and coordinates the patient/client's plan of care on a continuing basis. Informs personnel of changes in the patient/client's condition and needs. Completes required documentation needed to continue patient/client services. Submits and maintains information in the confidential file of patient/clients receiving services.

Acts as Interdisciplinary Team Member for all patient/clients receiving services on caseload and oversees financial benefits and medical status of those patient/clients.

Oversees patient/clients' financial benefits and personal financial accounts.

A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college/university is required. Knowledge of acquired brain injuries preferred. Experience with Substance Abuse, Trauma Informed Care, and Positive Behavioral Support Strategies. Current license or be able to be licensed to practice Social Work in the State of New Mexico required. Must receive CBIS Certification within one (1) year from start of position.

Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and maintain positive working relationships with individuals receiving services, families, guardians, team members, co-workers, caseworkers, nurses, other service providers, medical staff, community agencies, state agencies and other entities as necessary.

Must be able to work with a diverse group of people of varying cultural and educational backgrounds.
