About the Fixed Income Product Team

Vanguard's Fixed Income Product Team houses the foremost fixed income experts-many of which have extensive investment experience-outside of the investing team. The team is responsible for representing the fixed income product line to clients as a proxy for our investing team. In addition, the Fixed Income Product Team is responsible for ensuring the health, quality, and completeness of Vanguard's product line in service of enabling Vanguard's clients.

Summary

As the Senior Fixed Income Client Portfolio and Product Manager you will be responsible for representing our index fixed income mutual funds and ETFs both internally and externally as one of the foremost authorities in the domain. You will play a critical part in further developing Vanguard's fixed income ecosystem with analysis, education, and content creation that will cement Vanguard's position as the industry leader in fixed income. You will also be integral in ensuring our product line is world class, not only in terms of what we offer, but how each of our products are functioning and how we communicate about them to clients. You will leverage your experience to level-up the existing team and help scale its expertise across the organization. You will establish yourself as a credible, collaborative business partner to critical stakeholders across the organization including investment leaders, portfolio managers, sales executives, and members of the executive team. As you achieve success in this role you will further accelerate Vanguard's success and help set up the firm to continue to deliver industry-leading value to clients.

What it Takes

Acts as an investment expert both internally and externally in the industry. Provides investment support and guidance to relationship management and sales teams; is regularly called upon to participate in meetings with Vanguard's largest and most strategic clients. Acts as a Vanguard ambassador through media interviews and industry events as required.Leads analyses of investment product issues confronting Vanguard's product line-up. Leverages and leads cross-functional teams as required. Prepares and presents strategic analysis and recommendations to senior management at various forums.Develops and maintains key internal partner relationships across the organization.Leverages the client and sales feedback on products in order to assess product health and drive ongoing product improvements and positioning.Attends and presents at industry conferences and client specific events related to the product category of focus. Acts as a Vanguard spokesperson for the product category with the press and industry liaisons.Provides thought leadership in support of the Vanguard product lineup.Drives the creation of dynamic content and technical marketing used to position Vanguard investment products and to respond to investor queries.Contributes to new product launches and develops go-to market strategies. launches. Ensures coordination and consistency of product-related marketing initiatives and external communications across divisions.Manages product pricing and strategy.Participates in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Ten years related work experience, including five years of demonstrated experience in product management and investment analysis/strategy.Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.This job requires a regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC). These will be determined by Compliance based on role-specific duties.
