Management Solutions is seeking a Federal Consulting Services Practice Lead who is responsible for overseeing the work of client teams within the firm across the firm's professional services portfolio, developing strategic plans to grow professional services accounts, and delivering a range of professional services to meet client needs across a diverse portfolio.

Charged with overall account growth and client satisfaction, this role of Account Director requires an initiative-taking, driven professional with strong sales and business acumen, a proven track record of success in complex solution selling, professional services experience, a solid understanding of utility business operations, and passion for execution and delivery excellence.

The Federal Consulting Services Practice Lead responsibilities include :

  • Drive growth and client satisfaction in Management Solutions' Consulting Services Practice through crafting, selling, and overseeing delivery of strategic advisory, technology, and risk management consulting engagements, with a primary focus on Energy and Defense sectors
  • Support Management Solutions' Consulting Services Practice in the following ways:
  • Developing/expanding long-term client relationships with key accounts in federal Energy and Defense that lead to repeat business, and meeting and exceeding annual sales targets
  • Leading the pursuit and closure of new consulting engagements
  • Building deep trusted advisor relationships with key client stakeholders
  • Collaborating with senior consulting professionals in our delivery and solutions teams across Management Solutions to cross-sell a broader range of Management Solutions offerings to our Energy and Defense clients
  • Improve client business performance through benchmarking, process improvement, performance metrics, operating risk assessment, and implementation of continuous improvement principles for clients, including:
  • Assessing and guiding the business process and organizational changes required to improve organizational effectiveness
  • Building results-oriented business processes, developing and implementing long- and short-term strategies, and transition business models for clients
  • Providing oversight to project assignments, including development of team, building the work plan, directing and coordinating technical contributions, and overseeing budget and schedule
  • Contribute strategic industry and subject matter expertise, and thought leadership on project assignments
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to junior staff
  • Manage all aspects of client relationships and oversight of engagement delivery

What you will need...

  • US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident status (due to the nature of client engagements)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline
  • 10+ years' work experience in professional services or with Energy or Defense consulting organizations (excluding internships, co-ops, fellowships, graduate research and post-doctoral work). Cybersecurity and IT experience is preferred. Note: healthcare, telecommunications, and financial sector are not applicable.
  • Significant energy and defense business experience with a deep background in the IT project management, with a specific depth in one or more of the following: cybersecurity, IT project management, data transformation, and enterprise technologies
  • Demonstrated Executive / C-level relationships with energy and defense clients and the ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships
  • Demonstrable experience leading business development initiatives (writing proposals, identifying opportunities to expand the scope, and/or providing additional services) and managing account teams (developing and implementing an account plan and leading account team activities)
  • Full lifecycle solution experience, including strategy, planning, design, implementation (including technology implementation), and operations
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills and experience developing and using analytical models and simulations
  • Excellent communication skills and people skills
  • High degree of self-confidence and determination
  • Advanced organizational and management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities and assignments without diminished effectiveness
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of an organization
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation software
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work individually, as part of a team, or leading a team
  • Reviewing and at times preparing and delivering reports, presentations and other documents for client deliverables
  • Must currently reside or ability to travel to Washington, DC Metro area)
