YOUR ROLE

The Operations Supervisor for the 2nd shift is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the distribution center during the 2nd shift. This includes managing a team of employees, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining safety standards, and achieving operational goals.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  1. Supervision and Leadership:
    • Manage and lead a team of warehouse associates and material handlers.
    • Conduct daily briefings to communicate shift goals and expectations.
    • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for team members.
  2. Operations Management:
    • Oversee the receiving, storage, and distribution of products in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Ensure accurate order picking, packing, and shipping processes.
    • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  3. Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety standards and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
    • Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or near-misses.
  4. Performance Monitoring:
    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and productivity.
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Ensure shift goals are met or exceeded.
  5. Communication and Coordination:
    • Coordinate with other shifts, departments, and management to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of operations.
    • Communicate effectively with team members, providing clear instructions and feedback.
    • Resolve any operational issues that arise during the shift.
  6. Administrative Duties:
    • Prepare and maintain reports, records, and documentation related to shift operations.
    • Assist in scheduling and workforce planning to ensure adequate staffing levelWHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Capability to work in varying temperatures and conditions within the warehouse environment.
Work Schedule:
  • 2nd Shift: Typically from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM BUT MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH TIMES AND AVAILABLE FOR NEEDED OVERTIME.
