Job Summary

S and S Supplies & Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Fire Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our safety-conscious team, you will be responsible for supervising a team of professionals in the delivery of fire protection services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate daily/weekly schedules and operating priorities for assigned team to minimize downtime and ensure optimal productivity.
  • Monitor labor reports and ensure team is producing at or above communicated production, quality, and safety goals.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance/quality control, safety, environmental, and cost of operations goals and other performance and profit and loss metrics.
  • Provide leadership in achieving health and safety goals, proactively identifying safety and environmental issues, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, company, and client standards.
  • Maintain accurate and adequate inventory and daily status reports to sustain a state of readiness of tools and equipment.
  • Assist in conducting periodic audits of repair parts, rental, and equipment inventories, and submit purchase requests for equipment and supplies to support service and repair operations.
  • Communicate and resolve customer concerns promptly, reporting status of operational issues to management on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure all documentation and data entry associated with inspection and repair is completed promptly and accurately.
  • Complete required reports and communication in a timely manner.
  • Partner with human resources for hiring and firing, performance evaluation, salary, and job change actions, coaching and counseling team members, and documenting employee relations issues.
  • Ensure all personnel receive safety and procedure training, coaching team members to improve technical skills and interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
  • Plan and oversee a preventive maintenance program, ensuring equipment and other accessories are properly maintained and in top working condition.
  • Develop procedures for assigned operations, assist with establishing work standards for assigned areas, and assist with planning and implementing short and long-term departmental goals and objectives.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned, and may be called upon to fill in or help handle excess workload demands, overseeing contractors as required.
Requirements
  • At least five (5) years of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery, or related industry, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance, with a safe driving record and insurability for company vehicle insurance while driving.
  • Willingness to travel to customers' sites and availability for travel for short and long-term out-of-town and/or offshore projects.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC card and other safety-related badges/certifications as needed.
  • Thorough knowledge of company products and services in assigned area, with or without State Fire Marshal licenses for appropriate areas of service, and NICET level II certification in the appropriate area(s).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and other database software, with the ability to quickly learn new software applications utilized by the company.
  • Commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, an unwavering commitment to safety and health, and other company policies and procedures.
  • High ethical standards demonstrated by their approach to business, leadership, and the ability to coordinate resources to achieve maximum profitability, efficiency, and utilization.
  • Understanding and effective management of key financial issues that impact service and operations functions and the business, with experience in budget preparation and cost control.
  • Ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete, and easily understood written communications and reports, with proficiency in the care and use of all site-specific, facility, and customer-required personal protection equipment (PPE).
  • Trained in respiratory protection and fully certified to wear respiratory breathing equipment (Fit Tested).
  • Ability to work and lead in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Working Environment
  • Combination of office, shop, indoor, and outdoor industrial environments, with frequent exposure to cold, hot, wet, humid, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
  • May be exposed to high pressure, chemicals, and traffic, with a moderate noise level in the work environment.
Education Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED, with an Associate's degree in science or technical area strongly preferred.
