About this Position:
Lead and manage delivery specified aspects of a New Model project from start to finish. Design, identify, communicate, gather necessary resources, assign task, and implement a delivery plan for completing the project on time and within budget. Monitor progress and performance against the project, plan versus actual. Resolve delivery problems and minimize delays. Coordinate with other areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project. Support project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team. Coach and mentor project staff and assist them to solve problems.
Responsibilities include:
• Create, maintain, and manage project schedule to meet overall schedule milestones as well as specific quality-related deliverables
• Manage Department specific quality problems to assure countermeasure application before mass production start of new models
• Conduct periodic reviews with Department & Division management to confirm supplier development status
• Report the departments project status at New Model evaluations to Procurement Senior Management
• Communicate across DEB areas of the business to share ideas and reach consensus. Share project requirements to Department team and suppliers
• Represent the Department in project team meetings, theme activity, and evaluations
• Mentor associates within group on problem solving, procedures, and fostering development
Required Experience:
6-8 years' experience
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 10 years equivalent relevant experience required
Other job-specific skills:
Strong project management expertise, Understands Honda's Sales Engineering Design (SED) flow and NM organization, experience in completing a New Model Development cycle, Able to read Blueprints/ Drawings, Good negotiations skills
