Job Purpose

Delivers early planning and engineering solutions with agility and cost competitiveness across Product, Process and Tooling to improve N.A. manufacturing characteristics.



Key Accountabilities
  • Leads advance Body Frame Stamping product feasibility from styling sketch through 1st drawing issue for New Model Body in White construction. Creates part data proposals, tool process plan specification and rough layout. Reports technical criteria to Category Technical Expert and New Model Project Leadership.
  • Leads Manufacturing Stamping New Model equipment verification check list requirements and drawing maturation across N.A. DEBQ functions.
  • Conceives and leads the development of New Model Stamping Tooling specifications/process plan from 1st drawing to Die GO. Provide direct technical guidance and oversight to downstream customers to ensure successful design and production deliverables are met. Monitors Design Change through drawing maturation.
  • Body Frame Stamping tooling Technical expert across all Honda Automotive factories. Teaches expertise to Team and supports cross functionally collaboration across HDMA Business Units. Prepares and presents presentations on specific technical challenges driving value added engineering solutions.
  • Leads complex manufacturing category problem analysis, determine root causes, recommend corrective action, and set SAP(Specific Action Plan) in the New Model development.
  • Specific project leadership related to Business Plan improvement. Lead Team activity through SAP and milestone achievements. Report results to Business Unit Management.


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent related experience.
  • 8+ years of Engineering experience, expert knowledge of Equipment/Tool New Model, expert knowledge of Automotive Production facilities.
  • Problem solving analysis and breakdown to root cause.
  • Expert knowledge of Honda New Model development and Manufacturing.
  • Expert of Automotive sheet metal forming.
  • Supervisory experience. Ability to lead/manage a diverse workforce.


Workstyle
  • 10% Travel, 5 to 10 hours of OT per week
  • Willingness and capability to work on the production floor to understand equipment and Plant perspective
