Position will be based at Halliburton North Belt Campus- 3000 N Sam Houston Pkwy E, Houston, TX 77032

An Environmental Specialist at SET Environmental is responsible to:

  • Comply with SET Environmental' s policies, safety rules, and procedures regarding the proper use of safety equipment, safe work practices, and Site Safety Plans
  • Demonstrate active participation in the safety program and adhere to all aspects of applicable safety programs, site specific rules, and regulations
  • Pickup and package waste generated on-site daily
  • Support lab chemical purges
  • Support outgoing shipments to SET and other established waste vendors
  • Complete housekeeping in waste area including daily inspections
  • Comply with DOT and RCRA requirements in 90-day waste storage area
  • Backfill support of the on-site Waste Coordinator as needed
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, or Environmental Science related field
  • years of experience in the hazardous waste industry
  • Working knowledge of RCRA, TSCA, & DOT
  • Obtain and keep current all certifications/licenses required (i.e. 40 Hour HAZWOPPER Training)
  • Must be highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have the ability to effectively interact with different departments and Management levels
  • Ability to understand the various tracking systems used to support the waste program
  • Must have strong computer skills that can be demonstrated, that include use of Excel, Word, MS e-mail, etc.
