This position includes three major job functions: Marketing, Event Curation, and Theater Operations. Marketing responsibilities include: development of strategies, including website content, social media, email marketing, print advertising, writing press releases and managing marketing campaigns. Event Curation responsibilities include: serving as a member of the Center's programming team, which includes the Director, Associate Director, and Pollock Theater Director to create events for the public programming at the Pollock Theater. Theater operations responsibilities include assisting the Pollock Theater Director in coordination of daily operations and public events in the evenings and on occasional weekends.

Minimum Requirements

Undergraduate degree in a media-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of marketing mediums, funding sources, communication principles, media and marketing techniques. Strong project management skills related to media programming, and media event management. Event curation and/or conference organization experience. Supervisory experience. Social media and marketing experience.

Desirable Requirements

Advanced degree in a relevant field or 5 years industry/festival experience. Experience working in a university environment.

Marketing

Marketing responsibilities include: development of marketing strategies, including website content, social media, email marketing, print advertising, writing press releases and managing marketing campaigns in collaboration when appropriate with the Department of Film and Media Studies, the Public Affairs Office, the Development Office, and Alumni Affairs. Responsible for the social media presence of the Carsey-Wolf Center and the Pollock Theater across multiple platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other sites as needed. Writes and posts content for social media and manages feedback on-line. Works with Graphic Design professionals to create and schedule the production of printed materials and on-line postings. Develops pre- and post-event written content for website, social media and archiving. Establish relationships with local publications to promote Center and Pollock events, including research, publishing and public programs. Researches, analyzes, monitors, and evaluate marketing efforts for effectiveness, and reports results. Ensures timeliness of marketing strategies, meets deadlines in posting advertisements, press releases, and continuously manages on-line communication. Is responsible for the Marketing budget.

Serves as a member of the CWC programming team, which includes the Director of the CWC, Associate Director of the CWC and the Pollock Theater Director. Programs individual and series events for the Pollock Theater. Develops relationships with relevant programming professionals (festival programmers, archivists, and faculty) in the industry, film festival circuit and academia. Coordinates logistical details for Carsey-Wolf Center and Pollock events, including the preparation of cost estimates. Works with the Pollock Director to prepare quarterly budgets and schedules. Assists the Pollock Theater Director in managing people, events, and providing high level technical support (projection booth, podium, laptop, sound, lighting, blu-ray, etc.) in the Pollock Theater. Assists with scheduling and supervising 20 student staff members and interns, oversees the operation of audio/visual equipment, facilitating relations with patrons and VIP guests, providing for the safety of patrons and guests, and troubleshooting operations during night and weekend events.
