Department Overview:
Transportation & Parking Services (TPS) is a vital part of Housing, Dining, and Auxiliary Enterprises (HDAE).
TPS is a forward-thinking and self-sustaining department that supports the mission by providing safe and reliable parking, fleet services, and transportation alternatives to the campus community.

Job Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Events & Parking Enforcement, the Parking Events Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the daily administrative and operational aspects of the Guest Services / Events Program and campus parking-related events.
This role includes direct supervision of the guest services team and oversight of day, evening, and weekend events as necessary.
Responsibilities include evaluating, disciplining, and providing leadership to a diverse staff.Collaborating with the Assistant Director of Events & Parking Enforcement to develop, implement, assess, and continuously enhance customer services provided by Guest Services staff.
Acting as a liaison between Guest Services / Enforcement staff, other campus departments, and the public during events.
Demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and sound judgment while addressing customer issues and complaints.Engaging with a diverse campus population to manage complex access and parking issues, exercising diplomacy and tact even in challenging situations.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma
Proven communication skills to foster alliances and partnerships.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Demonstrated capacity to address and clarify issues.
Preferred:
1-3 years of experience in parking operations, policies, and procedures
1-3 years of supervisory experience
Proficient in web-based parking systems and office software.
Knowledge of budget administration and analysis.
Familiarity with laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances related to parking management.
Ability to assess parking facility requirements and maintenance programs.
Special Conditions of Employment:
Maintain a valid CA driver's license and a clean DMV record.
Satisfactory criminal history background check.

Job Functions:
Supervision of Guest Services & Event Program - 40%:
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Events & Parking Enforcement, provides leadership and supervision for the Parking and Guest Services staff in the field.
Oversees, trains, develops, and evaluates Guest Services staff. Promotes professionalism and a service-oriented approach among a diverse group of employees. Monitors staff performance and ensures organizational expectations are met.Conducts spot checks of campus parking events and facilities to ensure coverage and adherence to duties.
Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Events & Parking Enforcement on performance evaluations, training programs, and human resources referrals for hiring and disciplinary actions.
Directly supervises two Guest Services Coordinators and up to 35 student employees. Coordinates with the Assistant Director for event management, including staffing and operational plans during evening and weekend events. Assists in developing standard operating procedures for staff.Event Coordination - 40%:
In collaboration with the Assistant Director, executes parking and traffic plans for various events on and off campus; assists with security escorts for dignitaries and attends event briefings.
Acts as a liaison with other key departments involved in event management.Oversees the allocation of personnel and resources for special events, ensuring all aspects of coordination are handled professionally.
Assists with night and weekend supervision of Guest Services activities, parking attendant services, and campus traffic management.
Reviews event billing and work orders for processing.
Billing Responsibilities - 15%:
Conducts monthly billing processes to ensure departments are charged accurately for requested services. This includes verifying services and timeframes for accurate cost estimates.
Ensures timely billing and resolves discrepancies in collaboration with financial staff and campus customers.
Additional Responsibilities - 5%:
Assists with compiling costs associated with operational expenses related to events, payroll, and equipment.
Adjusts shifts for special campus events and is required to work additional hours as needed.
Participates in staff development training and other professional enhancement opportunities.
