The Role:

The Director of Digital Program Management is a newly created role that will oversee daily operations and execution practices of the Digital organization, driving the on-time delivery of projects, within scope and cost, and aligned with high-priority business objectives.

As part of our Digital Portfolio and Strategic Operations team, this role manages the planning, execution, and delivery of digital projects, addressing risks and issues. Principled prioritization will be key to ensuring focus on delivering whats most important with the greatest return on investment (ROI). Demand and capacity management mechanisms will be essential to ensure optimization of resources mapped against key deliverables. At the core of the Digital organization execution is the internal operating systems powered by Data. The Director of Program Management will be responsible for building a data-centric operating model that provides insights and understanding of the Digital organization leveraging our internal AI system to drive automation and scale.

This role will drive Digital transformation initiatives withing Digital and across the enterprise, ensuring Moderna excels at building great digital products leveraging industry best practices that will further exemplify Modernas culture of continuous learning and improvement. Stakeholder management will therefore be critical to this role's success, enabling strong collaboration across cross-functional teams to drive project success.

The most qualified candidate will have extensive experience in program management (within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry), systems architecture, software development lifecycle and digital transformation, with a proven record of accomplishment in managing large-scale projects. Heres What Youll Do: Lead and manage the daily operations of the digital organization, ensuring alignment with Modernas strategic goals and demonstrating act with urgency to keep projects aligned with business-critical objectives. Develop and implement best practices, standards, and processes for program management and software development execution, fostering a question convention mindset to challenge the status quo and drive innovation. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of digital projects, ensuring they meet quality, scope, timeline, and budget requirements, using pivot fearlessly strategies to adapt to evolving project needs and challenges. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, QA, and operations, to drive project success, utilizing remove viscosity to ensure smooth collaboration and communication across departments. Identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders, embodying a behave like owners commitment to project success and accountability. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the digital organization, encouraging team members to push past possible in seeking solutions and achieving goals. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field 10+ years of experience in program management, with a focus on software development and digital transformation projects. Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex projects in a dynamic, high-growth environment. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including agile practices. Exceptional leadership skills that will foster a culture of innovation and manage change within a dynamic environment. Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities, coupled with solid financial acumen. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree (MA/MS/MBA) in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and best practices. Global experience working in the biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering results. Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Project).
