  • Analyzes gaps and uptakes of comprehensive harm reduction programs in syringe service programs.
  • Assists in policy and administrative decision making for uptake of comprehensive service provision in identified areas.
  • Provides technical assistance, cross-site, and peer-to-peer trainings to local syringe service programs in planning, implementing, and evaluating public health, behavioral health and public safety partnerships and promotes data-informed harm reduction strategies to grantees and local partners.
  • Monitors and evaluates local program data standardization initiative through site visits, phone contacts, mailed survey instruments to assure compliance with ODH data standardization approved project objectives.
  • Develops content expertise in injury prevention concepts and principles.
  • Develops and coordinates health information, health education and health promotion activities designed to reduce health risk and promote healthy lifestyles.
  • Develops and delivers training.
  • Establishes a communication strategy to provide policymakers, practitioners, and community stakeholders with information about the initiative.
  • Responsible for evaluation of programmatic activities and policy related to injury prevention with a focus on drug overdose deaths.
  • Develops and administers surveys and assessments to evaluate progress or impact.
  • Conducts analysis of evaluation data and performance metrics.
  • Writes reports, develops presentations, and prepares correspondence regarding program purpose, functions, policies/procedures, data collection, data analysis, and results for various audiences.
  • Recommends how evaluation and performance measures will be used for the program.
  • Recommends how results of evaluation studies will be used for performance improvement.
  • Monitors and provides analysis and interpretation of data, and compiles data reports.
  • Tabulates and analyzes data using standard and complex statistical measures and determines appropriate statistical methods for specific data sets.
  • Conducts data analysis using statistical computer software packages.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective partnerships with key public health/behavioral health staff and public safety/criminal justice stakeholders to achieve common objectives by coordination of assigned tasks related to development of model policies and procedures through an Ohio Overdose Prevention Network AdHoc Committee(s).
Applications of those who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated against the following criteria:
  • Graduate or advanced degree in health services administration, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration
  • Experience working with Project DAWN or Injury-related data sets data
  • Experience working with advanced statistical software (SAS, ArcGIS)
  • Experience conducting research activities (e.g., gathering, analyzing data, producing reports)
  • Experience in evaluating health related program activities
  • Experience in communicating with Local Health Departments, facility leadership and providers
  • Experience providing technical assistance or training to health care providers

  • Completion of undergraduate core coursework & 12 mos. exp. in one of following: health services administration, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration, allied health sciences, nursing, economics, public health, or comparable field;
  • 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in research methodology, measurement & testing, analysis of variance & survey sampling;
  • 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in use of computer programs/applications used for spreadsheets, statistical analysis & graphics presentation & word processing;
  • 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in multiple regression or multivariate analysis.
