What you will be doing

The Pension Risk Transfer Officer will be responsible for overseeing and executing pension risk transfer transactions, collaborating closely with senior leadership, clients, and external partners to ensure successful outcomes. This role requires a deep understanding of actuarial principles, financial markets, and regulatory requirements related to pension plans.
  • Develop with senior management a PRT business plan and opportunity framework
  • Develop a Go-to Market strategy
  • Identify and recruit resources to assist in the execution of the business plan
  • Implement strategy with a goal towards achieving consistent deal flow and executing transactions in 12-18 months
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a cross-business unit team to achieve successful growth
  • Partner closely with various internal teams, including operations, investment, actuarial, risk, legal, finance, and other functions to drive results
  • Work closely and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to build out this new business within the enterprise
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients to encourage bilateral deal opportunities
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Source and execute transactions from start to finish with a keen eye towards unit and enterprise profitability
  • Prepare and present regular market updates to senior management and key stakeholders

Requirements

What Sets You Up for Success
  • A bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance or related field
  • A deep understanding of PRT insurance markets, defined benefit plans, actuarial principles, and the ability to lead transactions
  • 10-15 years of experience in the insurance/pension industry with deep expertise in business origination, PRT contract negotiation, actuarial pricing and product development
