Position Overview:

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) serves as a pivotal figure in the strategic management of the organization's information security framework. This role entails the formulation, execution, and oversight of a robust cybersecurity strategy, ensuring adherence to applicable industry standards and legal mandates. The CISO will lead a dedicated team of security experts, conduct thorough vulnerability evaluations, manage incident responses, and foster ongoing enhancements to the organization's security stance. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and direct the daily functions of the Information Security division;
  • Establish, uphold, and enforce security protocols and policies that effectively shield Medpace's digital assets while complying with regulatory obligations;
  • Mitigate risks to information systems by proactively identifying and addressing potential security threats;
  • Define access rights, control frameworks, and resource allocations to secure systems;
  • Identify and report security incidents, managing them to resolution;
  • Enhance security measures by evaluating current conditions, analyzing trends, and anticipating potential risks;
  • Conduct regular audits to uncover security breaches and inefficiencies;
  • Collaborate with IT departments to upgrade systems through the implementation of security controls;
  • Provide IT leadership with updates on security status, highlighting areas for improvement and communicating emerging risks;
  • Ensure quality service delivery by adhering to organizational standards;
  • Work with various business units to promote understanding and adherence to IT security best practices;
  • Supervise the recruitment, training, assessment, and retention of team members;
  • Facilitate training on IT security policies, ensuring compliance with established protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information security, cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field;
  • 8-10 years of experience in IT management;
  • Preferred advanced certifications such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, CISSP, or CASP, along with SIEM-specific training;
  • Proficient understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, and security principles;
  • Hands-on experience in analyzing extensive logs and network data to support incident investigations;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of at least one enterprise SIEM platform's architecture and operations;
  • Familiarity with mobile operating systems and technologies;
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft products, including operating systems, Active Directory, Azure, SQL Server, and Office 365;
  • Experience with perimeter security solutions, such as firewalls and intrusion protection systems;
  • Strong management, leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
