As a Senior Underwriter within PNC's Vendor Finance division, you will play a crucial role in our operations. Responsibilities may require a combination of office presence and fieldwork on a regular basis.

Some tasks may be performed remotely, subject to managerial discretion. **Municipal credit analysis and underwriting experience is preferred.**

Job Responsibilities
Work autonomously with minimal oversight.

Exercise elevated approval authority and exceptions.

Prepare proposals for various transaction types, regardless of complexity, or manage an assigned portfolio.

Engage with both internal and external clients. Provide recommendations for credit structuring and serve as a subject matter expert in specific asset classes. Act as a mentor, team lead, and trainer for the department.

Utilize independent judgment to identify risks and mitigants, prepare proposals and/or scorecards, such as risk ratings, by evaluating credit, collateral strength, and financial viability of loan/transaction parties.

If applicable, conduct ongoing credit risk management for the assigned portfolio. Mentor and/or review the work of other underwriters and substitute for the manager as necessary.
Contact internal/external clients and other relevant parties to gather information and clarify any inconsistencies, inaccuracies, or missing details. May engage in pre-approval and post-approval activities as needed.
Identify and confirm all external regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Make recommendations on credit decisions or directly make credit decisions when appropriate.

Work Experience: Roles at this level typically require a university/college degree, with 5+ years of relevant industry experience. Specific certifications may be required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience (including military service) may be considered.
