The Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) team supports the definition, design, and development of continuously improving mobility services. SDV is a new vehicle intelligence platform that will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs and expanded automated driving. This space is ripe with technical leadership opportunities for advanced technology development, as well as the ability to provide mentorship for new employees. You can flex your teamwork muscles as you will be tasked with working with several other areas of engineering, IT, and the business

Role

The Lead Infotainment SW Program Manager will be a key member of our infotainment software group, which is part of the larger Software Defined Vehicle group at GM. The lead program manager's responsibility spans the entire software life cycle beginning with the software requirement definition and program planning to the final delivery of a commercial product to the market. This role will work closely with internal and external teams across the globe to deliver software on time, and with the high quality our customers have grown to expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage software programs and coordinate with global software teams to ensure Infotainment software deliveries are on schedule and with high quality
  • Lead the software core team to create, maintain and track the program plans
  • Work with all the Infotainment Release Train Engineers to ensure smooth execution of software program in the SAFe framework
  • Proactively drive and coordinate GM internal stake holders and suppliers to ensure each milestone is reached on schedule
  • Manage critical program changes, risks, and issues. Ensure issues get highlighted, addressed, and resolved timely and effectively
  • Oversight of program progress and report status to the senior leadership team
  • Coach infotainment program managers/ RTEs
Additional Job DescriptionRequired Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of software program management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of program management methodologies and tools
  • Experience in managing programs through the complete software management lifecycle
  • Knowledge of embedded product software and test
  • Experience in developing and deploying products in global markets with virtual teams
  • Working knowledge of SAFe software development process
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative, disciplined, strong sense of responsibility, delivery and schedule commitment
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team
  • Strong leadership, excellent coordination, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Skills
  • 10 years of software program management experience in software companies
  • Android/QNX/Embedded development experience
  • Experience in automotive and/or portable consumer electronics
  • History of success in applying program management skills in a complex environment
  • DFSS Black Belt
  • SAFe Certified
