Land Survey Crew Chief

Position: Land Survey Specialist – Crew Chief/Tech

Experience: Entry level up to 5+ years; at least some fundamental experience; "a handy farm kid that knows the technical side" with an eagerness to learn, adaptability & enjoys primarily fieldwork. No formal education in surveying, civil engineering, or geographic information systems (GIS) required.

Additional Qualifications:


• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.


• Willingness to travel out of town for projects.


• Familiarity with survey hardware including Trimble, Leica, Topcon, etc.


• A working knowledge of Robotic Total Stations & GPS.


• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.


• Strong communication, organization, analytical & interpersonal skills.


• Comfortable working on a variety of projects within Public Works, Water, Commercial & other business units.


• Prefers/enjoys working outside.


• Experience in construction staking, performing ALTA, boundary & topographic surveys.
