DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Management Specialist 2, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the financial administration procedures for grants to Area Agencies on Aging (AAA). Duties include funds reporting and monitoring as well as providing technical assistance on fiscal procedures for the department's budget of more than $600 million federal and state funds. Work involves completing various tasks in regards to contract and grant procurement and monitoring including both expenditure and budget analysis. You will have the opportunity to utilize your analytical knowledge and training as you investigate, analyze, resolve, and respond to department fiscal-related matters and questions from Area Agencies on Aging.

Hundreds of millions of dollars are allocated annually to provide a wide array of services and programs intended to help older Pennsylvanians live and thrive in their homes and communities for as long as possible. These services include meals, caregiver support, health and wellness services, personal assistance, senior community centers, Medicare counseling, transportation, job training, elder abuse prevention, and more.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: This position is headquartered in Harrisburg. With the administration and agency leadership's support, this position is eligible for a part time telework. Management may discontinue the telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. You will be required to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg when needed. If you are unable to telework, you will report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The location where you perform your telework must be located within a reasonable travel distance of the Headquarters office in Harrisburg, within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 1; or
  • One year of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
