What will I do in this position if hired?


In this position, you will plan for Federal support during disasters by applying a range of emergency management knowledge from logistics to operations to deliberate planning.


Typical assignments include:
Building relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, NGO, and private sector logistics stakeholders in the state.
Providing technical assistance on complex disaster response issues to state and local stakeholders.

Coordinating solution development with Federal and State partners for identified issues to determine recommendations and options to support continuous improvement.

Employing the principles of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program in an interagency setting, working with states to capture lessons learned, identify corrective actions, and assist in pursuing the implementation of solutions to improve state and local capabilities.

Contributing to the development of logistics training, exercises, and planning as a subject matter expert.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
