Job Title: Brian Fishman Communications CoordinatorDepartment: CommunicationsBasic Function: Support all efforts of the USA Hockey communications department, including PR/media relations and content initiatives Essential Functions and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Serve in lead communications role for select U.S. national teams as assigned. Produce releases, digital media guide, other content/supporting materials for teams and serve as media liaison
  • Serve as lead public relations conduit for USA Hockey business areas as assigned
  • Develop PSAs and other collateral materials that support/promote various USA Hockey initiatives
  • Assist with public relations/content efforts for USA Hockey National Championships
  • Serve in lead communications role for Hockey Week Across America and USA Hockey Player Development Camps; play a supporting role for Welcome Back Week, Try Hockey For Free, and other youth-related initiatives
  • Contribute content for and USA Hockey Magazine
  • Manage USA Hockey women's and men's college hockey polls
  • Other responsibilities as assigned, including, but not limited to, assisting in executing all major events hosted and/or managed by USA Hockey, including Annual Meeting, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, and Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award
Qualifications (Required):
  • Bachelor's degree; 2-plus years of applicable full-time professional experience is preferred
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and ability to fully produce/edit video packages
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • High degree of initiative and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines as required
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hockey
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to travel, including internationally
  • Ability to positively engage with members of the media, the broad constituent groups part of USA
  • Hockey and the general public

Salary: $55,000. This is a full-time position. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, vacation/sick time, and 403B matching after six months. Availability: Position available immediately at USA Hockey's national headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo. This is not a remote position.
