About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Directional Drill Operator to join our team at MasTec Communications Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable.

Responsibilities
  • Locate and drill horizontal directional bores to install underground conduit and fiber optic cable.
  • Collaborate with the Drill Locator to ensure successful installation of coax and fiber systems.
  • Ensure the safety of the public and other underground utility facilities.
  • Read utility locates and coordinate day lighting of these facilities.
  • Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of utility directional drilling experience in an urban environment.
  • Experience with different size Vermeer or Ditchwitch drills.
  • Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for project build process.
  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
