Job Summary and QualificationsFT, hours may flex 32-40 per week
The Front Office Coordinator manages a variety of front office functions and is key to smooth operation of a dynamic outpatient wound care center as well as performs general office duties to assist the staff of the Wound Care Center.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
administrative duties, customer service, clinical outpatient setting, busy office phone, insurance verifications / approval requests, scheduling /cancelling appointments, Meditech knowledge helpful (not mandatory)
Ø Coordinates with Center leadership to maximize daily patient census.
Ø Actively participates in staff meetings to support key functions within the Center.
Ø Greets patients and other visitors, answers and routes calls to appropriate staff.
Ø Maintains all patient communication needs including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders. Also works and schedules for provider, according to the care continuum model.
Ø Obtains and verifies patient insurance information, to include pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for services and enters data in appropriate databases.
Ø Collects and enters patient charges in databases.
Ø Assembles new patient charts, maintains and files existing patient charts, and spot checks charts for data completeness and signatures.
Ø Assures that all documentation associated with the patient is scanned into the EMR system.
Ø Coordinates/schedules ancillary testing with other hospital departments.
Ø Arranges for patient transportation as needed.
Ø Schedules all supply rep luncheons/demos with the CNM and Program Director.
Ø All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred
Ø Current BLS (or obtain prior to the completion of orientation)
Ø Coding Experience preferred
Ø Two or more years office administration experience, preferably in a medical setting
Ø Familiar & able to apply basic finance & business skills
Ø Excellent typing skills (60 wpm), good organizational skills, articulate
Ø Excellent communication skills, positive attitude and personality
Ø Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ø Good customer, interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing
Ø Organization and time-management skills
Ø Ability to work in a fast paced environment, multi-task and pay attention to details
Ø Ability to work with others and in a team environment.
