Auburn Hills, Michigan, United States TEC Group Full time
Position Overview:
As an ADAS Calibration and Integration Specialist at TEC Group, you will be instrumental in establishing the company's inaugural in-house Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration team. Your primary focus will be on addressing integration challenges and calibrating L0-L3 ADAS functionalities through the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal software development teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of the algorithms and software associated with various ADAS features.
  • Create detailed calibration manuals for each feature and its sub-components.
  • Lead the initial assessment of system integration challenges, identifying and resolving software bugs, specification discrepancies, and conflicts.
  • Work closely with Vehicle Function (VF) documentation writers to enhance and refine VF documents.
  • Engage with vehicle assembly teams to troubleshoot inter-module communication issues across bench setups, prototype vehicles, and advanced models.
  • Partner with build and systems teams to address any architectural challenges related to development vehicles.
  • Establish feature-level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and translate these into specific calibration objectives.
  • Design standardized testing protocols to objectively evaluate feature calibrations.

As the functionality of the systems evolves, you will begin calibrating various ADAS features directly within vehicles. You will be responsible for adjusting these calibration values independently and conducting necessary testing to optimize performance.

Additional Information:
  • This role requires significant time spent in vehicles.
  • Frequent interaction with global team members is expected, both within your immediate team and with closely collaborating teams.
  • As a key player in establishing the Autodrive Calibration team, you may encounter additional temporary assignments as part of your responsibilities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in calibration within ADAS, powertrain, or similar fields (background in feature calibration or toolsets).
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and methodologies.
  • Effective communication abilities, particularly in interfacing with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing, vehicle integration, and validation engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics, CANalyzer, CANape, CAN networks, and Ethernet.
  • Solid understanding of vehicle dynamics.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with Tier I and Tier II automotive suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Experience in software development for embedded systems, control systems, Matlab Simulink/Stateflow, or algorithm development in C++, C, and/or Python.
  • Experience in releasing calibration sets into production.
  • Basic knowledge of Functional Safety and automotive diagnostics.
  • Experience in developing motion controls for Automated Driving vehicles.
  • Familiarity with the Robot Operating System (ROS).
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development frameworks, particularly in a SAFe Agile environment.
  • Background in Driver Assistance or Automated Driving systems, especially L2 and higher systems.
