Field Based Marketing Director - Key Customer Team

The Field Based Marketing Director on the Key Customer Team role is a field-based position focused on working closely with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) at select institutions and accounts within the defined geography. This person is the expert on Exelixis products and services for Key Opinion Leaders, ensuring cross-functional resources are available as needed. As a member of the GI Marketing Team, you will collaborate with field sales and other Commercial Team members at the home office. Your responsibilities will include developing brand strategies, managing KOL relationships, and executing key opinion leader strategies and tactics for optimal success.

This position is in the Midwest region, requiring the candidate to be located in Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, or Missouri.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on content creation for commercial tactics like speaker bureaus and advisory boards.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with KOLs, tracking opinions and behaviors.
  • Develop key account engagement plans for each assigned KOL.
  • Manage KOL engagement at congresses.
  • Facilitate understanding of diseases and the role of Exelixis products among KOLs using approved marketing material.
  • Liaise between KOLs and home office teams.
  • Support the execution of Advisory Boards and speaker bureaus.
  • Solicit feedback from KOLs for brand strategy development.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • MA/MS degree in related discipline desired with 11 years of experience or BA/BS degree with at least 13 years of experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Field-Based/Regional Marketing experience.
  • Oncology therapeutic area experience.
  • Launch experience.

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of products, therapeutic areas, and competitors.
  • Expertise in KOL development practices.
  • Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel (~65% required).

Job Complexity:

  • Works on diverse and impactful problems, requiring analysis and evaluation of various factors.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for results.
  • Networks with key contacts outside own expertise.
