Associate Director, Field Access Management

Ardelyx is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing innovative medicines for underserved patients. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Associate Director, Field Access Management. This role will be responsible for supporting daily operations and a team of field access managers for our patient services hub. The successful candidate will have a strong background in patient access services, healthcare operations, and reimbursement services. They will be responsible for managing our patient access and affordability programs, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless execution. This is a remote position with regular travel to our corporate offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement patient access programs to ensure operational excellence and high-quality service.
  • Lead a team of field access managers to support the reimbursement journey from prescription initiation to access determination.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive positive outcomes and optimize business performance.
  • Maintain and uphold key performance indicators (KPIs) for team members and stakeholders through regular business reviews and KPI tracking.
  • Create a culture that aligns with our company values through effective management of internal team members and external partnerships.
  • Monitor volume trends and ensure adequate staffing to meet patient service objectives and goals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, mentor, and develop a diverse and talented field access management team.
  • Develop and execute communication plans to ensure clear communication between Ardelyx and our internal and external teams.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on patient services-related topics and serve as a resource to all stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a B.A/B.S. required; advanced degree within business or healthcare strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience within patient access services, healthcare operations, and/or reimbursement services.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience required, including managing remote teams and external vendors.
  • Strong functional knowledge of health insurance and benefits, including Medicare Part D, commercial, and Medicaid.
  • Extensive knowledge of HCP office processes regarding patient flow, prescription flow, and clinic office operations.
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment impacting patient services and demonstrated integrity on the job.
  • Indepth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturer compliance requirements and patient confidentiality (HIPAA regulations).
  • Outstanding customer relationship, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to effectively work with diverse audiences and influence cross-functionally.
  • Strong project management skills and abilities, comfortable managing multiple projects and delivering strong results.

Work Environment:

  • Remote with regular travel to Ardelyx corporate offices.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of time within the U.S.
