Job Summary

Tetra Pak Food Packaging Safety & Interaction department in Stuttgart, Germany, is responsible for the food safety and food contact compliance and Chemicals compliance assessment of Tetra Pak's global portfolio comprising of packaging, equipment and chemicals.

You will be based anywhere in US Tetrapak locations (Denton, Texas, Vernon Hills, Illinois, Winsted Minnesota, Madison, Wisconsin, if you are far from our offices we can find a flexible option) to strengthen our dynamic team.

Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.

What you will do

As Food Safety Regulatory Officer your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Monitor existing and new regulatory requirements applicable to food contact materials and chemicals in the US and Canada. Create and maintain up-to-date regulatory library and provide timely reports to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to initiate and evaluate impact assessment of regulatory requirements on Tetra Pak portfolio. If needed, identify areas of improvement and make recommendations to enhance compliance processes.
  • Assess and approve food contact materials supplied globally by Tetra Pak to ensure compliance with current and future requirements of US (Federal and State Laws) and Canada laws.
  • Build and maintain local monitoring network.
  • Be a knowledgeable and respected speaking partner for questions related to food contact compliance – internally and externally. Potentially, act as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, responding to any inquiries or concerns and ensuring compliance with the respective regulations.
We believe you have
  • Educational background in law, food law, food chemistry or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant food contact and chemical regulations in US and Canada and passionate about legal topics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in chemical food safety, regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in stakeholder management in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organisation – fluent in English (written and conversational).
  • Superior engagement, flexibility, creativity, solution-orientation, team-oriented but also individual contributing mindset with high personal drive
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Detailed and structured working style.
