The Prepared Foods Team Lead is a key member of our team, responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to develop and maintain a positive and productive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Work with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, and analyze sales reports and labor data to inform business decisions.
  • Assist the Team Leader in resolving team concerns and issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities to team members.
  • Function as the point person and departmental leader in the absence of the Team Leader, and maintain awareness of customer flows and needs to direct team members accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, and ensure all paperwork is properly submitted for vendor processing.
  • Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution, and foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
  • Consistently communicate and model the company's vision and goals, and maintain awareness of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, and maintain awareness of customer feedback and concerns.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
  • May require use of ladders.
