Job Summary

This position will assist the Actuarial department with developing and valuating insurance and annuity processes.

Essentail Functions
  • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of forms approvals and compliance function.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate systems to monitor all aspects of the form approval process, including: individual state filing and form requirements, forms approval, policy form development, and form filing.
  • Increase first-time approval rate by coordinating with Product Development Actuaries and the Legal department to produce policy forms compliant with state requirements.
  • Coordinate with state regulators to resolve issues with product filings.
  • Maintain familiarization with industry standards and innovations by attending professional meetings and/or subscription to professional societies and periodicals.
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to solve practival problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Intermediate user in Excel and Microsoft and 10-Key by touch.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 1-2 years of related actuarial experience.
Licenses & Certifications
  • None required.
  • Completion of LOMA insurance courses I and II required within first year of employment.
