The USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute and Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI/INI, ) are world leaders in the development of advanced computational and scientific approaches for the comprehensive mapping of brain structure and function. LONI's unique multidisciplinary environment and cutting-edge resources allow for integration of clinical, psychological and genotypic information with neuroimaging phenotypes for research questions in neurology, psychiatry and developmental neurobiology.

The Pappas Lab focuses on using neuroimaging markers (MRI/PET) to understand early brain changes in people at risk for dementia. The lab is involved with the USC Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (USC ADRC) and the Global Alzheimer's Association Interactive Network (GAAIN), both of which collect and host a wealth of Alzheimer's related data. The Project Specialist will join a growing multidisciplinary team of neuroscientists, clinicians and engineers that are dedicated to increasing our understanding of brain changes in neurodegenerative diseases. The group is led by Dr. Ioannis Pappas (Assistant Professor Neurology) and the position is based USC in Los Angeles, California.

This position is to serve as a Project Specialist to the lab by providing research and administrative support for the PI and the existing team. Responsibilities include support in coordinating day to day research activities, assistance in administrative activities (e.g., IRB and MRI/PET protocol management), data collection (e.g., MRI scanning), data processing (e.g., processing of neuroimaging data), and research. This position is ideal for a pre-PhD candidate looking to join a new lab and obtain research experience using a wealth of neuroimaging data.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in data science or related quantitative field with minimum 2 years of experience in data research methods or equivalent Master's degreeBasic understanding of data science methodsBasic knowledge of programming (bash/Python/MATLAB) and neuroimaging processing pipelinesPrevious experience on neuroimaging project procedures and analysis techniques is preferredAbility to produce careful and detail-oriented workExcellent communication skills and strong writing skills The hourly rate range for this position is $ $34.14.
