What we need
The Manager of Automation Maintenance Operations is responsible for planning and leading the daily activities of the Maintenance Department, with a focus on Safety, Quality, and Maintenance. The Symbotic system consists of automated adapters, vertical lifts, and a fleet of automated robotic vehicles. In this role, you will oversee the upkeep and operations of the automated adapters that interface with the Symbotic structure. As the Maintenance Manager, you will be the system expert, with in-depth knowledge of all mechanical, PLC, electrical, and electronic subsystems. This role requires strong leadership and a focus on procedural methods to positively impact the materials, machinery, and overall system performance.

The Manager of Automation Maintenance Operationswhich is part of the broader Customer Operations organization. This team is dedicated to achieving operational excellence by collaborating closely with our onsite customers to ensure top-tier quality, safety, and system performance.

What you'll do

Ensure daily compliance with safety commitments in alignment with OSHA, Symbotic, and customer processes and procedures.Execute Symbotic's maintenance program by providing training, accountability, and delegation to maintenance technicians and leads.Supervise maintenance technicians and leads, including work assignment and scheduling.Lead POC for facilitate troubleshooting and problem-solving for internal teams and customers, coach and mentor team to manage escalations.Coach on professional development for maintenance employees.Pursue measures to reduce downtime on production equipment actively and identify and implement opportunities to reduce waste.Plan, schedule, and monitor the timely completion of maintenance work orders.Deploy industry-standard continuous improvement and operational excellence practices, including root cause corrective action programs related to equipment breakdown analysis.Partner with procurement and cross functional inventory team to manage purchase materials, parts, and supplies to maintain proper inventory levels.Maintain work areas to plant standards, conduct safety training and perform safety observations.Perform other duties and projects assigned. What you'll need Associate degree or equivalent experience/certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or a related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.Utilize progressive coaching and counseling concepts according to established policies and procedures to provide continuous feedback on performance, enhance employee retention, and improve employee relations.Excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation communication skills.Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS); Maximo preferred.Proficient in performing Preventive Maintenance Inspection functions, including cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checking, current measurements, and checking electrical systems.Strong electro-mechanical skills.Ability to work independently following maintenance procedures and manuals.Demonstrate a high sense of urgency.Respond positively to critical feedback and recognitionKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Our Environment There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit. AT times you may be at a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness)Frequent ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs.Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and is frequentlyrequired to walk and reach with hands and arms The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches.
