Certifying Scientist for Special Chemistry

LabCorp is looking for skilled Certifying Scientist to join our Electrophoresis team with knowledge base of gel electrophoresis technique and interpretation of Serum Protein Electrophoresis and Immunofixation for the detection of Multiple Myeloma, and Alkaline Phosphatase Isoenzymes is preferred. We touch thousands of lives every day and our team is dedicated and committed in providing the best service.
The schedule for this position will be: 1st shift, Sunday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
- Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related life science or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required
- Ability perform assay extraction and setup is highly preferred
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
