Clinical Scholar Faculty Position in Pulmonary Medicine

The Robert Larner MD College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and The University of Vermont Medical Center are recognized leaders in patient care, medical education, and research. The Department of Medicine is conducting a search for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level (Clinical Scholar Pathway) within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. We are in pursuit of an exceptional physician/scientist-leader dedicated to clinical practice, medical education, and research.
The Interventional Pulmonary (IP) Section is comprised of a highly collaborative team, including a dedicated nurse practitioner and nursing staff. Block operating room time is allocated for advanced procedures, which encompass rigid bronchoscopies utilizing various therapeutic techniques (Nd:Yag and holmium laser, argon-plasma coagulation, cryotherapy, stent placement, etc.), robotic bronchoscopy (featuring intraoperative cone-beam CT), endobronchial valve placement, and pleuroscopy. Faculty members in IP also participate in the Interventional Pulmonary Clinic, Lung Multidisciplinary Clinic, and the Complex Thoracic Disease Clinic in partnership with Thoracic Surgery. Academic research is highly encouraged, with ample opportunities available within the IP section, the PCCM division, the Vermont Lung Center, and through other multidisciplinary collaborations.
Prospective faculty are expected to contribute to the educational mission of the Larner College of Medicine and the University of Vermont Medical Center. There are opportunities for further training and career advancement in education through the Teaching Academy. Candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Interventional Pulmonology.
