Your Role:
As a Senior Medical Technologist, you will:

  • Conduct essential and advanced testing for donors and patients, interpreting results to ensure compatibility.
  • Address compatibility issues and provide consultation services to healthcare facilities.
  • Execute both automated and manual testing procedures on blood samples, adhering to strict standard operating protocols.
  • Support and guide volunteers, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Engage with medical staff to resolve serological challenges and supply specialized units to patients in need.
  • Oversee the management of blood sample logistics, including ordering, receiving, and preparing necessary reagents.
  • Maintain exceptional records and perform quality control checks in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Identify and troubleshoot testing irregularities, implementing solutions or escalating issues as necessary.
  • Conduct training and competency assessments for staff and provide educational support to external clients.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this position, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or Chemistry, with MT(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) certification preferred.
  • MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent educational background.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in blood banking.
