Clinical Scholar Pathway Faculty Position

The Robert Larner MD College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and The University of Vermont Medical Center are recognized leaders in patient care, medical education, and research. The Department of Medicine is conducting a search for a faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Professor level (Clinical Scholar Pathway) within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. We are in pursuit of an exceptional physician/scientist-leader dedicated to clinical practice, medical education, and research.
The Interventional Pulmonary (IP) Section comprises a highly collaborative team, including a dedicated nurse practitioner and nursing staff. Block operating room time is allocated for advanced procedures, which include rigid bronchoscopies utilizing various therapeutic modalities such as Nd:Yag and holmium laser, argon-plasma coagulation, cryotherapy, stent placement, and more. Additionally, robotic bronchoscopy (with intraoperative cone-beam CT), endobronchial valve placement, and pleuroscopy are performed. Faculty members in IP are responsible for staffing the Interventional Pulmonary Clinic, Lung Multidisciplinary Clinic, and the Complex Thoracic Disease Clinic in collaboration with Thoracic Surgery.
Academic research opportunities abound, including industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated trials, quality and implementation science, and translational research. Faculty members are encouraged to engage in research within the IP section, the PCCM division, the Vermont Lung Center, and through various multidisciplinary collaborations. Candidates are expected to contribute to the educational mission of the Larner College of Medicine and the University of Vermont Medical Center. Furthermore, opportunities for additional training and career advancement in education are available through the Teaching Academy.
Applicants must be board certified/board eligible in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Interventional Pulmonology.
