You are extremely detail-oriented and thrive in turning ideas into realized, full-scale commercial projects.

You have the perfect mix of strategic, operational, analytical, and people skills. You are a clear, confident communicator who loves taking a complicated problem, deconstructing it, and finding + implementing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and lead a team in management of a project portfolio with project values of $100MM+
  • Develop full scope project plans for process design and technology scale-up to commercial scale.
  • Define, communicate, and manage project scopes, expectations and deliverables that support Ambercycle business goals in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assemble, oversee, take responsibility for, and manage project-related disciplines and associated resources, including: process, electrical/instrumentation, mechanical, safety, civil, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Full cycle project management through completion. Oversee a number of scale-up related functions such as concept design, site selection, EPC & vendor partnerships, technology/equipment selection, detailed engineering, procurement & construction, and commissioning.
  • Project management, commissioning, startup, and operations with a focus on risk, regulatory, and environmental operability permits and compliance across Ambercycle facilities as well as with contract CMO facilities at different global locations.
  • Responsible for leading the process safety and hazard analysis in the facility, process safety focal point, PHA/HAZOP, reactive chemicals audits and layers of protection analysis (LOPA).
  • Partner with the executive team, finance, business, and commercial groups to execute a cohesive long-term strategy to enable business success.
  • Travel to domestic and international company locations and facilities for meetings, training, or information gathering will be required. Must be available to travel up to 40%.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in engineering required, mechanical, electrical or chemical focus preferred.
  • Proven leader with a track record of EPC / EPCm project execution in both brownfield and greenfield capital projects.
  • 10+ years of project engineering/project management experience from concept to start-up.
  • Successful execution of new product and process commercialization at large company and small start-up environments with international teams involving Operations, Process Technology, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and Legal.
  • Experience overseeing large-scale industrial projects involving the manufacturing and processing of chemicals or polymers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Techno-economic analysis, trade-off studies and financial evaluation.
  • Project documentation, planning, risk tracking, and management - across pre-FEED, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup phases.

  • Experience with process engineering, solids handling, and technology scale-up as well as a commanding knowledge of thermodynamics is a plus.
  • Must have an incredible enthusiasm for building first-in-kind projects, a strong desire to change the world, and passion for solving difficult engineering and project problems.
  • Highly capable to reach a thorough understanding of a situation, finding gaps and opportunities, in order to develop and execute the right strategy to get the required results, while communicating with all levels of the organization.
  • Preference is given to individuals with extensive experience in downstream petrochemical, specialty chemical, polymer, and mineral processing industries.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, open environment.
