PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. stands as a premier entity in the transit sector, delivering extensive engineering, construction oversight, and project management solutions for significant public infrastructure initiatives, particularly focusing on transit systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of transit-related projects.
- Serve as the Resident Engineer, supervising Office Engineers, Construction Inspectors, and Project Support Staff.
- Ensure contractors adhere to schedules, budgets, technical specifications, and legal standards.
- Address and resolve design and on-site construction challenges.
- Participate in progress meetings and provide updates on project developments.
- Facilitate design modifications and field adjustments.
- Evaluate contractor change requests and support the formulation of contract amendments when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Contracting Officer on negotiations regarding contract alterations.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures in alignment with organizational safety objectives among contractors and team members.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in managing large-scale heavy civil engineering projects.
- At least five (5) years of leadership experience overseeing major construction contracts.
- Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.
- Professional Engineering registration in California or the capability to secure it within six (6) months.
- Experience with transit projects involving track and systems construction within operational yards and the establishment of Maintenance of Way (MOW) facilities.
- Completion of Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30 training certification prior to commencing work on the project.
