Stop Loss Actuarial Analyst III

Location: Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy, providing various levels of flexibility while also ensuring that associates have opportunities to connect in-person. Unless in a designated virtual-eligible role and specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, associates are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process.

The Stop Loss Actuarial Analyst III completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies for our Employer Group Stop Loss segment, supporting Commercial Pricing functions. In particular, this role will primarily focus on our rapidly growing Wellpoint Stop Loss segment.

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports
  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists
  • Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects
  • Collaborates with a diverse group of stakeholders to provide Pricing support and Risk Analysis

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS and to have passed a minimum of four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams and a minimum of 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Knowledge or work experience in the Stop Loss product area
  • Large Group Commercial Pricing Experience

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $88,000.00 to $158,400.00
