The Opportunity

Our location in Columbus, OH currently has an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager - Master Data in our Nutrition Division.

This position reports to a Master Data Manager and works with cross-functional departments regionally and globally. Works with all levels of employees, including senior management. Works under general supervision. Receives limited supervision on standard issues, and limited/detailed instructions on new assignments. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Leads the activities of assigned team by communicating and providing guidance towards achieving project objectives. The consequences of erroneous master data decisions or recommendations might include an interruption to the Abbott Nutrition manufacturing or shipping processes. The interruption could impact the entire supply chain and lead to customer dissatisfaction if product is not correct or available.

Primary Function:

Responsible for managing projects or sub-projects, both domestic and international, from beginning to end, with accountability for project execution.

  • Provide project management including establishing project goals, objectives, and deliverables to meet Division strategies and business objectives.
  • Deliver project excellence by incorporating best practices in project management to meet and or exceed customer needs.
  • Identify process issues and recommend improvements to team members and management.
  • Act as point of contact for project reporting & updates to Business Unit
  • Provide support as required to Program or Portfolio Management

What You'll Work On

  • Initiate and Plan Projects: Works with business and management to establish project scope, goals, objectives and deliverables. Document project plan and maintain project documentation.
  • Project Control: Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with department, management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution. Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget.
  • Executing and Closing Projects: Develops a timeline and resource plan. Manage cross-functional timeline and follow-up with project team members to ensure timely completion of tasks. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Project Communication: Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team and Department manager. May create and deliver project review presentations to Business Unit leadership as necessary.
  • Resource and Team Management: Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Minimum 4-year college degree
  • At least 5 years, typically 7 or more years of experience.
  • 3-5 years of Project Management experience or equivalent master data experience

Preferred

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • level of judgment and decision making for system critical application, analytical skills, stakeholder management and interface with senior staff.
  • Advanced MS office, in particular Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint. Preferred
  • Knowledge in Access or Power BI. Preferred
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, with customer driven focus and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to manage, communicate, and coordinate the project management phases of Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, and Closing
  • Demonstrated skills in collaborating and influencing cross-functionally, excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning and execution skills

  • Critical thinking/problem-solving skills
  • Needs to be adaptable and have the ability to work within deadlines.
