About the team

Drive awareness of the Stripe App Marketplace, craft the narrative of how Stripe Apps extend our products and deliver value to customers, and engage developers on how to build apps using Stripe.

Our Product Marketing team's mission is to generate customer insights that inform Stripe's product strategy, and lead go-to-market for our suite of products. Product Marketing is a highly cross-functional role at Stripe, partnering closely with Product and Engineering, Sales, Partnerships, Demand Generation and Campaigns to name a few. Different from many other Product Marketing teams, our team works across the entire product lifecycle, from helping shape the product, to driving launch and commercialization, to growing product adoption post-launch.

Stripe has an ecosystem of developers that help to extend Stripe's product and deliver value to customers through apps that span across categories such as customer relationship management, marketing, accounting, ERP, and more. We're looking for an experienced, creative, results-oriented product marketer to develop messaging and positioning around our app ecosystem, and partner across marketing, global partnerships, product, and sales teams to help drive market awareness and demand.

What you'll do

  • Be a storyteller. You have deep empathy for users and are able to adapt how you communicate to best reach and engage your audience—from developer to CFO—and differentiate Stripe. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Lead with data. You like working with data and insights and pair that with your passion for users to generate balanced and thoughtful points of view for how to take our products to market

Act as a team player. Product Marketers collaborate across the Marketing team and with basically every team at Stripe. You are able to work with a range of disciplines to execute on your work

Responsibilities

  • Develop messaging and positioning around the app ecosystem, including Stripe Apps (and the use cases that they enable) and the Stripe App Marketplace
  • Work closely with product, partnerships, and partner marketing (demand generation) teams to build a marketing strategy, with the goal of driving awareness, demand, and usage of apps
  • Enable sales teams to understand the value of key 3rd party apps
  • Help customers of all sizes solve their critical business problems and workflows with app

Minimum requirements

  • 5-8 years prior product marketing experience, with a strong preference for candidates with experience working in B2B settings
  • Deep understanding of the value of digital marketplaces, apps, and partner ecosystems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience translating technical features into benefits for a technical audience
  • Be able to leverage data to proactively identify opportunities and drive impactful results
