The Role:

Moderna is on the lookout for a Senior Manager, Tax to become an integral part of our Tax team. In this critical role, the Senior Manager, Tax will not only ensure Modernas compliance with domestic tax obligations but also contribute to our broader mission of delivering transformative medicines. This position is designed for a tax professional who is eager to take on challenges, drive efficiency, and support a high-growth, transformational company.

Heres What Youll Do:

Engage in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provision computations, focusing on global taxation elements to ensure accuracy and compliance. Navigate complex tax reporting standards such as ASC 740 and FIN 48, applying these to various scenarios to determine appropriate tax accounting measures. Conduct thorough tax analysis relevant to the companys financial forecasts and business plans, aligning tax strategy with Modernas broader objectives. Manage the preparation of U.S. federal and state income tax returns and interface with various external providers, establishing a robust compliance process and timeline. Strong understanding of US, International calculations such as FDII, GILTI, BEAT, and Foreign Tax Credits. Manage studies for Research and Development and Unicap to substantiate the calculations and understand the technical concepts while interfacing with key stakeholders to meet the deliverable deadlines. Support the indirect tax compliance function for both vendor and customers, including the review of sales and use, excise, gross receipts, property, foreign vendor withholding tax and other indirect taxes, to uphold our commitment to full compliance. Assist with U.S. tax government audit processes, responding to tax notices and maintaining clear, accurate records. Participate in special projects and perform ad-hoc analyses to support departmental and company-wide initiatives, build efficiencies with technology, demonstrating flexibility and a forward-thinking approach.
