Sourcing Excellence Manager, DistributionLive

Lead the end-to-end strategic sourcing lifecycle in distribution logistics categories including but not limited to transportation modes (TL, LTL, intermodal, ocean, air), warehousing services and clinical logistics servicesAct as a trust advisor to of key partners/customersCollaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to identify and implement optimal distribution solutions that align with business objectives.Lead, execute and implement the sourcing needs of Amgens regional distribution activityCollaborate to build a multi-year sourcing strategy for the category that will deliver year over year efficiency and value; Measure and manage supplier performanceExecute Global/Regional Sourcing StrategiesData and spend management, including tail spend, in respective categoriesExecution and end-to-end ownership of the strategic sourcing planAdvise on the Procurement Process and Systems ensuring compliance with all relevant sourcing policies and proceduresProvide expertise on contracting, leading contracting activities, managing ongoing contract management needs carriers and distribution suppliersBuild and maintain strong relationships with key distribution vendors, ensuring they meet Amgens standards for performance, reliability, and compliance.Resolves and proactively prevents potential problems through root cause analysisEnsure Amgens procurement policies are followed, ensuring that compliance metrics are met or exceeded, supported through preferred supplier contractsAbility to travel up to 10%, domesticWinWhat we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degreeOR Masters degree and 2 years of Strategic Sourcing, Contracting and Negotiations experienceOR Bachelors degree and 4 years of Strategic Sourcing, Contracting and Negotiations experienceOR Associates degree and 8 years of Strategic Sourcing, Contracting and Negotiations experienceOR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Strategic Sourcing, Contracting and Negotiations experience Preferred Qualifications:Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within distribution, including managing logistics, transportation, and delivery services. Strong experience in Project Management and independently develops practical solutions (Planning, prioritizing and delivery), with experience in leading project teams across geographic and functional reporting linesAbility to negotiate, manage, and develop relationships with distribution vendors, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance standards. Ability to provide thought leadership to customers and actively shape customers overall strategy while understanding business goalsChampion productivity with a track record in developing and implementing sourcing strategies that optimize distribution networks and drive cost savings.Background in optimizing distribution processes and supply chain operations to enhance efficiency and achieve strategic goals.Strong financial and analytical skillsKnowledge of regulatory requirements related to distribution in the BioTech/Pharmaceutical or related industries.Excellent communication skills (presentation, virtual team development, etc.) resulting in relationship building and developmentAble to work with minimal direction, ensuring quality of tasks / service provided by self and otherExperience using e-procurement tools such as Workday Strategic Sourcing (Scout), and AribaApplies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations using different information sources in order to draw and present analytic insightsHighly proficient with MS Office Suite, including ExcelFluent business English, written and oralThriveWhat you can expect of us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for our teammates professional and personal growth and well-being. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
