Department Summary
The Division of University Advancement at UNT Dallas is a unique office, like many offices on our campus. The Division of University Advancement encompasses much more than a typically university advancement office does. At UNT Dallas our Division of University Advancement not only works in fundraising, but also houses the Office of Sponsored Projects (grants), Marketing and Communications, Alumni Relations, Trailblazer Elite, Dr Emmett J. Conrad Leadership Program, External Partnership, Transfer Partnerships and Study Abroad.

Position Summary
This position will require a student who a team player. As the Student Assistant for the Division of University Advancement, you will be aiding in a wide range of projects under different offices. The position therefore requires an employee who can work with a variety of personalities and supervisory methods. Most supervision will be general. This means that work objectives are set for the employee, but methods of performing the tasks are frequently left to the judgment of the employee with occasional instruction or advice provided by the supervisor.
Examples of Tasks:
  • Preparing mailings
  • Managing front desk
  • Assisting with meeting set up
  • Data collection
  • Data organization

Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled UNT Dallas, in good standing and making satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree or certification program. Applicants must possess the following:
  • Excellent customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Some knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Responsible, reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to learn assigned tasks readily, to adhere to prescribed routines, and to develop some skill in the operation of common office equipment.

Work Schedule
Monday – Friday; 19 hours within 9-5
  • not routinely, but some evenings will be request. This will be discussed and agreed upon prior to the hours being work.
