About the Role

The University of North Texas System is seeking a highly skilled Data Specialist of Student and Academic Outcomes to join our team. This role will play a critical part in maintaining good standing with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and ensuring the School of Education's programs are operating efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate records of student progress and alert faculty and staff to students at risk of program incompletion.
  • Collect and report relevant data from key assessments completed in various courses.
  • Assist the Certification Officer with data and records needed for full recognition by TEA.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, address concerns, and direct them to appropriate faculty or advising.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to keep students informed about key opportunities, upcoming deadlines, and School of Education goals.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure adequate assessment of student learning and program operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field and one year of research experience in student services, student affairs, or communication.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area.
  • Knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to functional area.
  • Strong presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Education or a related field.
  • One year of research experience in student services, student affairs, or communication.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish.
  • Texas Educator Certification and Texas Administrator Certification.
  • Skilled facilitator of learning experiences grounded in adult learning theory.
