The project: Life Sciences and Industrial Manufacturing Senior Project Manager

  • You will ensure robust quality systems are in place, and suitably managed in line with service excellence.
  • You will manage delivery from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
  • You will manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of the associate director and other senior leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project.
  • Providing Program Level Leadership as an extension of the client's Senior Leadership team to ensure the overall successful completion of the program/s as may be assigned.
  • Establishing key relationships with the client and other key stakeholders.
  • Leading the specialist design team, construction supervision and cost consultants throughout the project.
  • Implementing an appropriate and effective project management framework.
  • Effectively manage the performance of the program team to execute assigned capital programs and projects, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery on large complex programs and projects.
  • Acting as the key client and consultant interface at all project stages ensuring that client and quality objectives are met, and projects are delivered within safety, quality, time and cost targets.
  • Directing project planning and production of the detailed project plan.
  • Leading and managing the cross-functional project team.
  • Providing strategic advice from project conception stage to achieve overall objectives, development of success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters until completion and handover.
  • Anticipating and implementing strategies to address quality, safety, health and environment issues.
  • Establishing/implementing/managing the effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout a project.
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques using KPI's to improve project performance.
  • Monitoring and advising upon project finances and procurement of resources.
  • Managing the reporting and the flow of program/project information between the team and the client.

  • You will manage design and wider consultant teams in a collaborative manner to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.
  • You will lead and manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub.

You'll need to have:

  • Relevant degree (MS or MBA preferred). You hold Project Management Institute (PMI) certification or Program Management certification.
  • Demonstrated capital program leadership experience. Effectively, managed integrated team(s) on large complex and multi-phase Life Science and Industrial Manufacturing capital programs.
  • Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, including alternative project delivery (Design Build and Construction Manager at Risk).

You'll also have:

  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience of leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
